What could be sweeter than a cute tee shirt for little children?
We have a delightful selection of designs made just for children on our Child Tee Shirts page at Sandi’s T’s.
I already had a design for a Teddy Bear on a royal blue tee shirt.
Yesterday I added 3 more colors – light pink, light blue and yellow. They are sooooo adorable – your children and grandchildren will love them!
The fabric used underneath has teddy bears. Each of the new colors has a fabric that coordinates with that color. You will love them so much, you will want one of each….
Where can you order all 4 colors? Right Here!
Come visit – we would love to have you see our great designs!

Another Pink Ribbon design
February 29, 2008 at 7:47 am | In My Business | Leave a CommentTags: pink ribbon, pink ribbon designs, denim shirt, pierced earrings, non pierced earrings, pink ribbon denim shirt
This is so exciting, I’ve added another new pink ribbon product at Sandi’s T’s.
If you have read my T-Shirts and more page, it the denim shirt right at the top. I’m not sure why it’s taken me so long to get it on-line…
Where can you order it? Right Here!
I had to much fun making it and then wearing it everywhere – many people asked where they could get one – probably lost business, but then I’m not very pushy, so we’ll see what happens now that it’s available to the public!
This design can be made on short sleeve denim shirts as well as long.
I’ve added the button earrings to match as well.
These can be found on the same page, or you can order them from our Button Earrings pages – Pierced and Non Pierced.
Do you have an idea for a pink ribbon design that you would like to have on a denim shirt or a tee shirt? I’d love to hear from you!

New Years Resolution
February 29, 2008 at 7:29 am | In Exercise | Leave a CommentTags: Exercise, exercise routine, Idita Walk, New Years resolution, walk, walking, walking routine
Okay, okay, I know what you are thinking – why is she talking about a New Years resolution at the end of February?
Well, I like to give the excuse that life interrupts what we are trying to do.
My New Years resolution was to start walking again. Oh, not just around the house, but an actual routine. I can’t walk outside the house – the driveway is gravelly (?) and I’m afraid I would twist or break my ankle. The road at the end of our driveway is loaded with truck traffic – logging trucks, etc. No way am I going to try and walk there.
My neighbor and I had been walking last year at her church about 4-5 days a week, before the cold weather set in. However the cold weather was not the reason we stopped. There was a man loitering on the grounds, and the last time we walked there – as we were driving out – he was hiding behind a wall that we would have passed, if we had walked another loop. Too scary for me!
Then my sister recommended a structured walk.
It is a “do it yourself” walk. You register, keep a track of your walking and mail your paper in when your done. Take a look at the website, It is a boy scout troop out of Nome Alaska and they started this to raise money for the EMT services in their town.
Idita Walk Instead of driving a dog sled for 1049 miles, you get to walk for 1049 minutes over a 2 month period (Feb 1 – Mar 31). Which if you do it right, you can walk 30 minutes a day – which is the recommended length of time for exercising, for a total of 35 days or more, and feel that you have accomplished something… a goal…an incentive to exercise, etc…
So with that in mind, I signed up and started my walk on February 1st. This, then was my new New Years resolution!
So the days that I have walked in Feb are 1,2,4,6,8,9,10,14,27 and hopefully today. Why such a large gap? Well I was on a roll and then had my surgery on the 12th – walking on the 14th was a little too soon – I was really wiped out, waited until the 27th after I had had my 2 week checkup, and am ready to get back in the groove!
So as of the end of the walk on the 27th, I have accumulated 272 minutes. I still have a long way to go, but feel much better and ready!
I’ll let you know how I progress.
If anyone out there has signed up and is also doing the Idita Walk, I’d love to hear from you. We can encourage each other!

Pink Ribbon designs
February 28, 2008 at 8:09 am | In Cancer, My Business | Leave a CommentTags: Cancer, chemo, pink ribbon, pink ribbon designs, pink ribbon t-shirt, pink ribbon tee shirts, relay for life, tee shirts, walking
When I was going through chemo, I decided to create some pink ribbon designs as a way of saying thank you to all the people who helped me during my ordeal.
These designs have been in the works for quite awhile, since my treatments ended in December of 2006, and I’m just now getting them on-line at Sandi’s T’s. Oh well, better late than never
)
The 2 designs that you see here, are created on either a purple tee shirt, or a white tee shirt. The fabric used in the heart has a pink ribbon theme, and I’ve appliqued a pink ribbon emblem on the shoulder as well.
You can see the unique designs here.
Oh, did I mention that you can order fabric covered button earrings to match these tee shirts?

These tee shirts are great for you to wear to show your pride in being a breast cancer survivor. Or give one to a friend who is undergoing the same thing! Want to be ready for the Relay for Life? Order and wear this tee shirt as you walk with other survivors. That’s what I’m going to be doing.
Last year, I was in North Dakota nursing my daughter back to health after cancer surgery. This year I will definitely be there!

I haven’t uploaded any pictures of our ‘new’ kitten since we got him. Did I tell you his name is Orville. Of course our other cat is Wilbur.
Well, here is the photo I took the other day. The rocking chair is a favorite spot for both of them. Orville seems to love to upper bunk.

I realized that I didn’t post any photos of my new product line – fabric book covers.
If I didn’t mention it before, these book covers are great. The first thing I did when I found them, was to order 1 of each size to test them out. I never offer products on-line that I myself haven’t tried. And love!
This is just one of the Bible book covers -

The book cover is made with a tapestry fabric, foam lined, with 2 handles and 2 ribbons for marking your favorite verses. You can see more at our Bible Book Covers page.
Our Fabric Book Covers come in a variety of sizes and fabric selections. Of course I’m partial to cats of all kinds. Here’s one of them.

We offer paperback sized, large paperback sized as well as hard back. I have one of each. And since I read everywhere I go, and in the house, these fabric book covers really help to keep the book in good condition and protect the pages as well as the covers. You can see more of the regular fabric book covers here.
Enjoy!

Results of CT Scan/Surgery
February 14, 2008 at 9:55 am | In Cancer, Health, surgery | Leave a CommentTags: Cancer, ct scan, cyst, ovaries, plasma, surgery
In a previous post – I mentioned that I was going to have a ct scan to see something in my pelvic area. Well the results were a mass that was about the size of an orange or larger.
Things happened fairly quickly after that. I had an appt with a gyn oncologist – based on my history of cancer. That appt was on the 5th of Feb.
I then had an appt with my oncologist – who is also my hematologist – since I have a blood clotting deficiency. That was on the 8th.
I needed to get plasma on the 11th, and then surgery on the 12th. So things were on a fast track.
Monday the 11th, I had to be on a liquid diet and included in that was 64oz of Gator-aide – with miralax. What a delight!
My plasma was supposed to start being given to me at noon. So off we trucked to the local hospital for that process.
The first thing they gave me was benedryl. Last time I got plasma, I developed hives. So the benedryl was supposed to prevent that. It also puts me to sleep.
I was scheduled for 4 units of plasma. The first went well. The 2nd unit was running a few minutes when the hives started showing up. So it was more benedryl, blood taken to see if there was a problem with the unit, and wait….. My hematologist decided to have me given hydrocordison (sp) and Tylenol. Then a new 2nd unit, and a 3rd were given. More benedryl and then the 4th unit. Then an hour wait to make sure that everything was fine. By this time, it is 9:30pm.
My dh picks me up – I get about 4 hours of sleep and then it’s off to the other hospital for the surgery. By this time, I am exhausted and starving.
Nurses and the anesthesiologist all try to use my right arm as a pin cushion as they try to find a vein that will work for the iv. It ends up being put in my foot. (I kept telling them to try that first!) You should see all the bruises on my right arm. My left arm can’t be used as I had lymph nodes taken out during the cancer surgery.
Had the surgery – the cyst was grapefruit sized. The procedure was a laproscopic one – tiny incisions that are already healing. It’s amazing what can be done!
The surgery was at 7:30am, and I was home by 1pm. Other than a little discomfort, I have not taken any pain meds and I’m looking forward to getting back into the swing of things.
The results are that the cyst was benign – my ovaries and tubes were removed as well.
I still am not eating very much – one full day of liquids and another half day with no eating really shrinks your stomach. What a way to lose weight!

Update on our son
February 14, 2008 at 9:37 am | In Family & Friends | Leave a CommentTags: bike accident, hospital stay, recovery
It’s been a busy two weeks, since last I posted, so I have lots to tell you. Our son is now out of the hospital, and on his way to fully recovering from him accident.
He was in the hospital a little over 2 weeks. The last couple of days that he was in the hospital, he was back on the feeding tube, since he couldn’t swallow – probably because the ventilator tube was in for so long and ulcerated his vocal cords.
He came over to visit us – his sister drove him – on Sunday, and he is beginning to perk up. He has a long way to go, to be fully functional to be able to go back to work.
His shoulders – one is dislocated (time will heal it) the other is separated. Since he works for one of the cities locally as a landscaper/trash man – he will not be able to go back to work for quite some time.
He is definitely lucky to be alive and in as good a shape as he is.
We thank God every day for this blessing.
