A movie review

My girlfriend and I planned a day of movies and eating on the 21st of this month. Her birthday was the day before and she, another friend and I had lunch. Then on the 21st we decided on a movie to go see and then have lunch afterwards. I can definitely say that the lunch was much better than the movie!

My girlfriend loves Johnny Depp – seen everything he’s been in and we’ve see the pirate movies which are my favorite. So we decided to go see Sweeney Todd – it started this past Friday. I have to tell you I have never been so grossed out by a movie in my life. At least with war movies and action movies you kind of expect to see some people get killed and some blood. But Sweeney Todd was so bad – I had to cover my eyes for quite a lot of the movie. I guess I should have read the synopsis first. I would have known (as my daughter has informed me) that this was a very gory story. And the theater had the sound cranked up as loud as it would go – so needless to say, I was deaf, and sick to my stomach on the way out.

Of course, I’m sure you are asking yourself – why didn’t we just get up and leave. I guess we were hoping it would get better, not worse.

IMO – not one of Johnny Depps’ finest. And certainly one that can be missed.

Hope you don’t waste your money like we did.

Almost Christmas

I can’t believe that Christmas is almost here. And to top it off – it’s been almost a month since my last post. Where has the time gone?

Not much has been going on this past month – and I really didn’t want to write some nonsense just to have something to post.

I went to the ocologist this past week for my 4th 3 month checkup – actually a year anniversary. Everything looked good, and I should be able to have the full results of the blood work sometime after Christmas. So I’ll post that when I get it.

My daughter had her last radiation treatment, has been to the surgeon for a check-up and starts her last 3 chemo treatments in January.

Our farm is winding down for the season. We have been selling collards, kale and turnips for the last couple of months – but that too is almost done. So now my dh will have to just figure out something else to do.

He hunts right now – but that ends the end of the month. Oh, well – he can start planning for his planting in the spring!!

I’ll try and post something after the holidays, just to let you know that I’m still here!
