9 month checkup
October 17, 2007 at 9:11 am | In Cancer |Recently went to my oncologist for my 9 month checkup. Everything looks good, and the results of all the bloodwork is normal. As I mentioned before, I don’t stress about it. As long as I wake up each morning, I’ve been given another day. Some days I get so busy, that I don’t even think about cancer. Is that realistic? I think so - by not worrying about it - maybe it won’t come back. Of course - it might be too early to think about it returning. It’s not even been a year since the end of my treatments. My next appt is in Dec - for my 1 year checkup. Not sure if the next year is still 3 month checkups or 6. But we’ll just take it one day at a time!

I congratulate you on your 9 month follow up being a success. From the very last day of treatment you are a survivor, and having to go through the entire process is something to be applauded and thought of very highly. I find the strength and perseverence that patients have to go through all of this is so inspiring and allows me to love what I do even more.
I wish you all the best and continued success in your on going survivorship. Take care and best wishes.
