A new product for my business

This past weekend, I added a product line to my website. And I am really excited about it.

A few weeks ago, I was cleaning out one of my dresser drawers. You know the one…. everything gets shoved in there until I have time to organize it. I found a fabric gift bag, that someone had used to give me a present – and to be honest, I can’t remember who or when…

I thought that fabric gift bags would be a great addition to what I make for my customers. After the amount of wrapping paper we bought for this last Christmas, I figured I would love to use gift bags made of fabric, that can be reused by each person that gets one. I’m all for saving trees!

So I spent a lot of time doing research on the Internet to find out what sizes of gift bags seemed to be the most popular as well as most useful. I have tons of fabric – guess you can it a fabric stash – even had to have a special cabinet built to hold it all :) .

So armed with my research and photos of my fabrics, I added the fabric gift bags to my site. I’ll have a newsletter going out soon to let all my customers know about them. But you can get a sneak peak at them and tell me what you think.

Another side effect of chemo?

I’m beginning to think that everything that is going on in my body is related in some way to the chemo treatments that I had for my breast cancer.

Several weeks before my treatments ended, I noticed that the nail on one of my big toes had a large black spot on it. Thinking it was some kind of bruise or injury to the nail, I figured it would move up as the nail grew. It didn’t. As a matter of fact, all the nails on both feet were growing except the big toe nails. Yep, both of them. They seemed to be at a dead stop. Well, I guess the chemo killed them!

Nearing the end of my treatment, I noticed that the nail with the black area was loose, so I clipped as much off as I could. I didn’t want it to get caught when I put on socks. The other nail I basically left alone as it didn’t seem to be loose.

Last night, on the toe where I had clipped much of the nail away, the other part of the nail came loose and now that’s off as well. The other toe nail was coming loose as well – so that got clipped too!

I had done some research on the Internet as to whether I should leave them alone or go to a doctor, etc. Most of what I read said to let the nails/toes air out as much as possible – don’t wrap them, they will heal better. Also, I found that eventually the nails would grow back. That sure is a relief if that’s what is going to happen. The toes just look so strange without nails on them!

But to be honest, since this seems to be just another side effect, I fully expect to have more pop up, as my body readjusts to not having those harsh chemicals around.

As far as energy – which is a major concern of mine – the lack of…. I spoke with a woman the other day, who said that her cancer was 10 years ago, and that she still gets very tired. Of course, I don’t think I will mind still getting tired after 10 years, if the cancer stays away :)
